Pairing Your Devices
Pairing establishes a trusted relationship between your IDE and mobile device, enabling secure communication through our cloud infrastructure. This one-time setup takes less than 2 minutes.
Before You Begin
Make sure you have:
- JetWings plugin installed in your IDE
- JetWings mobile app installed on your device
- Both devices connected to the internet
How Pairing Works
JetWings uses a secure 6-digit code system for pairing:
- Your IDE generates a unique 6-character code (e.g., ABC-DEF)
- You enter the code on your mobile device within 5 minutes
- Backend validates the code and establishes the pairing
- Pairing persists until expiration or manual unpair
No account creation required. Your IDE and mobile device are identified by randomly generated unique identifiers. The pairing code is single-use and expires after 5 minutes.
Pairing Step-by-Step
- Pairing is a one-time setup that persists (IDEs remember your phone).
- Connection is what you toggle daily to allow/block remote access.
Pairing Expiration Options
Choose an appropriate expiration duration:
- 30 days: For temporary setups
- 90 days: For personal devices (Recommended)
- 1 year: For stable environments
- Never: For permanent setups (requires confirmation)
When the pairing expires, you will just need to pair again.
