The AZD Pull Requests tool window lists the pull requests of the Azure DevOps repository that your project is cloned from. From the list, you open a pull request, create a new one and track your team's review activity.

Tasks for a single pull request have their own topics:

* [AZD: Create a pull request](azd-create-pull-request.html)

* [AZD: Review a pull request](pull-request-details.html)

* [AZD: Comment and suggest changes](azd-pr-comments.html)

* [AZD: Vote, complete and merge](azd-pr-complete.html)

## Open the tool window

The tool window is available when the project has a Git remote that points to Azure DevOps Services or Azure DevOps Server. To sign in, see [Connect to Azure DevOps](azd-installation.html#connect).

Procedure: Open the AZD Pull Requests tool window

* Select `View | Tool Windows | AZD Pull Requests`.

* In the main menu, select `Git | AZD | Show AZD Pull Requests`.

* Click the AZD Pull Requests icon on the tool window bar.

If AZD cannot choose the repository and the account on its own, for example because the project has more than one Azure DevOps repository, the tool window asks you to select them. To select them, or to switch later with Change Repository or Account…, see [Choose the repository and account](azd-installation.html#azd-select-repository).

## View pull requests

The Pull Requests tab lists the pull requests of the repository, newest first. When you open the list in a project for the first time, it shows only your own active pull requests (the Includes my changes quick filter). To see all active pull requests, select the Active quick filter; see [Quick filters](#quick-filters). AZD remembers the last filter for the project.

Each row shows the title, the pull request number, the creation date and author, labels and reviewer avatars.

DRAFT, MERGED, ABANDONED
: The state badge of a pull request that is not active.

Merge conflict icon
: The tooltip Pull request can't be merged means that the source branch conflicts with the target branch.

New commits icon
: The tooltip New commits since your review means that commits were pushed after you last voted or marked every file as viewed. AZD keeps track of these reviews for 30 days.

Double-click a pull request, or select it and press `Enter`, to open its details in a new tab of the tool window. Right-click a pull request for Show Pull Request, Open Pull Request in Browser, Copy Pull Request URL and Refresh.

By default, the list hides draft pull requests. To show them, click Include Drafts on the list toolbar. To hide them again, click Exclude Drafts. AZD remembers the choice for the project.

## Filter and search

Type in the search field to filter the list as you type. AZD matches the text against the title, the description and the number of each pull request. Use the filter buttons under the search field to narrow the list further:

State
: All, Active, Merged or Abandoned.

Author, Reviewer
: A person in the organization. Type at least 2 characters to search for a user.

Source Branch, Target Branch
: A branch of the repository.

If no pull request matches, click Clear filters in the empty list.

## Quick filters

Click the filter icon in the search field to open Quick Filters. Every built-in quick filter except Abandoned shows active pull requests only.

Active
: All active pull requests.

Includes my changes
: Pull requests that you created.

I am a reviewer
: Pull requests where you are a reviewer.

Abandoned
: Abandoned pull requests.

Waiting for Author
: Pull requests where you voted Wait For Author.

I Reviewed
: Pull requests that you approved, with or without suggestions.

Awaiting My Vote
: Pull requests where you are a reviewer and have not voted yet.

New Changes Since Review
: Pull requests with commits pushed after your last review.

Your custom quick filters appear in the same popup.

## Custom quick filters

A custom quick filter saves a combination of criteria under a name, for example "Needs my vote on main".

Procedure: Create a custom quick filter

1. In the title bar of the AZD Pull Requests tool window, click Custom Quick Filters (the gear icon). You can also right-click the list and select Custom Quick Filters.

2. In the Custom Quick Filters dialog, click +.

3. In the Add Custom Quick Filter dialog, enter a Name.

4. Under Filter Criteria, set any of State, Sort, Author, Reviewer, Source Branch and Target Branch.

5. Click OK.

To change or delete a custom quick filter, open the Custom Quick Filters dialog, select the filter and click the edit button or -.

## Sort the list

Click the sort icon on the list toolbar and select a Sort by option: Default (newest first), Created Date or Title. Select Descending to reverse the order. AZD remembers the sort order for each project.

## Keep the list up to date

To reload the list, right-click it and select Refresh, or press the shortcut assigned to Refresh (see `Settings | Keymap`).

To refresh the list and open pull requests automatically, select Auto-refresh pull requests and set Interval in seconds in `Settings | Version Control | AZD | Preferences`. AZD refreshes the list only while its tab is shown. It refreshes an open pull request only while its details tab is shown and has the focus. For all options on this page, see [Preferences](azd-settings-configuration.html#general-configuration).

## PR metrics

The PR Metrics dashboard summarizes pull request activity in the repository. It needs the IDE's built-in browser (JCEF).

Procedure: Open the PR metrics dashboard

1. In the title bar of the AZD Pull Requests tool window, click PR Metrics (the chart icon).

2. In the PR Metrics editor tab, use the toolbar to set the Time range and to filter by Author, Reviewer and Target branch. The time range goes from Last 7 days to Last year; the default is Last 90 days.

The dashboard shows:

* Summary cards: Total PRs, Active, Merged, Avg Cycle Time and Merges / Week.

* PR Cycle Time: the time from creation to completion of each merged pull request.

* Status Distribution and Review Votes.

* The number of pull requests merged per day, week or month, depending on the time range.

* Top Authors and Top Reviewers.

Click the maximize button of a widget to enlarge it. For pipeline metrics and agent pools, see [AZD: Pipeline metrics and agent pools](azd-pipeline-metrics.html).

## Create a pull request

Click Create Pull Request… (+) in the tool window title bar. For all the ways to start and the fields of the new pull request tab, see [AZD: Create a pull request](azd-create-pull-request.html).
