# Codecov: What's new

## Codecov 2026.3

Codecov 2026.3.1 and 2026.3.2 (September 2026) target the IntelliJ Platform 2026.3 and update dependencies. They add no new user features.

## Codecov 2026.2

Codecov 2026.2.2 to 2026.2.5 (June to August 2026) target the IntelliJ Platform 2026.2 and update dependencies, including security fixes in libraries.

## Codecov 2026.1

The 2026.1 releases (January to May 2026) added the dashboard and folder coverage:

### Codecov Metrics dashboard

The Codecov Metrics editor tab shows pull request impact cards and a coverage trend chart with metric, branch and time range filters. Open it from the Project tool window toolbar.

A notification warns when a commit lowers total coverage on a branch, and the dashboard refreshes when you switch Git branches.

### Folder coverage

Folders in the Project tool window can show a colored dot for their Codecov coverage. You set the coverage bands and their colors in `Settings | Tools | Codecov | Folder Coverage`.

## Earlier versions

The 2025.2 releases introduced line coverage in the editor gutter with show, hide and refresh actions, the coverage popup with Open in Codecov, AI prompt templates, automatic repository detection from Git remotes, and support for GitHub, GitLab, Bitbucket and self-hosted Codecov servers. Completion and validation for `codecov.yml` have been available since the first version.
